Flight operations at Catania Airport have been suspended following renewed eruptive activity at Mount Etna on Sunday, September 14.
Airspace sectors C1 and B3 have been closed due to the volcanic activity, affecting both arrivals and departures at the Sicilian airport.
According to the latest airport update, flight operations are currently suspended until 10:00 PM local time.
Passengers scheduled to travel to or from Catania are advised to check their flight status directly with their airline before heading to the airport, as delays, cancellations and schedule changes may occur.
