Lufthansa Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Felipe Bonifatti as Vice President Asia Pacific & Joint Ventures East, effective November 1, 2024. Based in the regional headquarters in Singapore, Felipe will oversee all commercial activities, including Joint Venture sales in the Asia Pacific region.
A Seasoned Aviation Leader
Felipe Bonifatti brings over three decades of aviation experience to his new role. Born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, he holds dual nationality in Argentina and Spain. He graduated from the German school in Mar del Plata and earned a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the National University. Felipe also holds a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Belgrano in Argentina.
Career Milestones
Felipe began his aviation career in 1992 and has held various senior positions within the Lufthansa Group across Latin America, Africa, and the Caribbean. His notable roles include serving as General Manager for Equatorial Guinea & Sao Tome and Principe, followed by a promotion to General Manager for Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, where he received the prestigious Order of Alexander von Humboldt from the Colombian Parliament.
As the youngest executive within the Lufthansa Aviation Group in Latin America, Felipe later became General Manager for Central America & the Caribbean, where he successfully launched Lufthansa Group’s first operation in Central America and expanded into the Caribbean region, overseeing airlines including Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, and Edelweiss.
Vision for Asia Pacific
In his most recent role as Senior Director, South America & Caribbean based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Felipe honed his leadership skills and strategic insights. Frank Naeve, Senior Vice President Sales & Distribution, expressed enthusiasm about Felipe’s appointment, stating, “Felipe brings a wealth of experience to the role of Vice President Asia Pacific & Joint Ventures East. I am personally very excited to have him on board. I am confident he will deliver on our ambitious growth plans for the Asia Pacific region.”
Multilingual and Family-Oriented
Felipe Bonifatti is fluent in German, English, Portuguese, and Spanish. He is married and has two children, and he looks forward to expanding the Lufthansa Group’s footprint in the dynamic Asia Pacific region.
