Turkish Airlines marks 20 years in Finland

Airlines & Airports

Turkish Airlines has celebrated 20 years of operations in Finland, marking the milestone with an event at Helsinki Airport on March 20, 2026.

The airline has operated flights between Istanbul and Helsinki since 2006, building a strong presence in the Finnish market over the past two decades. Airport officials highlighted the carrier’s role in enhancing connectivity between Finland and the rest of the world.

Laura Inttilä, Senior Vice President and Director of Helsinki Airport at Finavia, praised Turkish Airlines for its service quality and extensive global network, noting plans to increase flight frequencies during the upcoming summer season.

The airline is set to operate up to 18 weekly flights between Helsinki and Istanbul in summer 2026, including three daily services on selected days. The route provides onward connections to more than 350 destinations across Turkish Airlines’ global network.

Turkish Airlines’ General Manager in Finland, Utku Yazan, said the expanded schedule would further strengthen the link between the two cities and improve travel options for passengers.

The anniversary event also brought together local officials and diplomatic representatives, reflecting the importance of the route for both tourism and business travel.

In addition to its Helsinki services, Turkish Airlines also operates seasonal winter flights between Istanbul and Rovaniemi, supporting travel to Finland’s popular Lapland region.
