Schiphol's Lounge 2 Welcomes Luxury Brands in Major Renovation

Airlines & Airports

Schiphol Airport's Lounge 2 is undergoing renovation to enhance passenger experience with new luxury brands like BVLGARI and Louis Vuitton, alongside upgraded food and beverage options.

Schiphol Airport is transforming Lounge 2, the section beyond security checks designed for passengers heading to non-European destinations, into a haven for luxury shopping and dining. The renovation aims to elevate the passenger experience by introducing new luxury brands and a diverse selection of food, beverage, and retail outlets. The renovation is centered around expanding the space available for these new entrants, with BVLGARI being the latest high-end brand to open its doors on March 18.

Arthur Reijnhart, Executive Director of Schiphol Commercial, emphasizes that the redevelopment of Lounge 2 is part of Schiphol's broader strategy to enhance its appeal to global travelers. This includes offering tastier and more sustainable food options, prestigious shopping experiences, and a luxurious ambiance. The arrival of distinguished brands such as Louis Vuitton and BVLGARI marks a significant milestone in this journey, with plans to gradually introduce more luxury retailers and dining concepts.

The renovation process, expected to conclude by the end of 2024, involves reorganizing and furnishing over a thousand square meters, in addition to adding eight hundred square meters of new space. This makeover will make room for sustainable and high-quality dining options like Bubbles Seafood & Wine Bar restaurant, while also upgrading and expanding seating areas for enhanced comfort.

Despite the extensive work, Lounge 2 will remain accessible to passengers, with efforts to minimize disruption by scheduling construction activities at night and in stages.

Lounge 2 is a critical hub for over 15 million annual passengers traveling to non-Schengen, mainly intercontinental, destinations. It currently features over 25 shops and 10 dining establishments, with a focus on luxury, quality, and comfort to satisfy the demands of its (transfer) passengers. The addition of new luxury brands complements an already impressive lineup of high-end retailers like Gucci, Rolex, and Hermes, further cementing Schiphol's status as a premier destination for world travelers seeking a luxurious and comfortable transit experience.
