Zurich Airport Agrees New Charge Terms for 2026

Airlines & Airports

Zurich Airport Ltd. has completed a scheduled round of negotiations on airport charges with major airline users and industry representatives, reaching an agreement on new flight operations fees that will take effect on October 1, 2026.

The negotiations, which began in October 2025 and lasted around four months, involved Swiss International Air Lines, easyJet Europe and representatives from scheduled, business and light aviation, along with freight forwarders. The process was overseen by Switzerland’s Federal Office of Civil Aviation as an observer.

Under the new agreement, overall airport charges at Zurich Airport will be approximately 10 % lower on average than in the current charge period, reflecting improved cost coverage and strong traffic growth. Passenger-related charges will fall more sharply, with departing local passenger fees dropping compared with the current rate.

The revised fee structure is designed to balance the airport’s financial sustainability with competitive cost levels for airlines and passengers, supporting Zurich Airport’s attractiveness as a European aviation hub.

This outcome provides planning certainty for both the airport and its airline partners ahead of the new charge period.
