SAS Expands Codeshare Agreement with Virgin Atlantic

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has announced an expanded codeshare agreement with Virgin Atlantic, significantly enhancing its long-haul offering for travelers flying via London Heathrow.
Under the new agreement, SAS will place its ‘SK’ code on selected Virgin Atlantic flights to popular long-haul destinations, including:
-
Cape Town
-
Johannesburg
-
Dubai
-
Malé (Maldives)
More destinations will be added in the coming months.
“This expanded codeshare strengthens SAS’ offering by opening up more options to popular destinations for both business and leisure travelers,” said Paul Verhagen, Chief Commercial Officer at SAS.
“It makes it easier for our customers to connect through Heathrow and enjoy a smooth travel experience.”
Virgin Atlantic’s CCO, Juha Jarvinen, added:
“This codeshare expansion with SAS demonstrates our shared commitment to SkyTeam collaboration. It allows more customers to connect seamlessly to our incredible destinations and experience Virgin Atlantic’s premium service.”
The partnership builds on the original codeshare launched in October 2024 and supports the airlines’ shared membership in the SkyTeam alliance.
The new codeshare flights are available to book from October 6 for travel starting October 8 via SAS booking channels.
