BA Amex Companion Voucher Now Works on Holiday Packages

British Airways American Express cardmembers can now redeem their Companion Voucher when booking a holiday package through British Airways Holidays using Avios, receiving 25% of the Avios spent back into their Executive Club account.

The benefit applies to bookings made before March 31, 2027. Premium Plus cardmembers can receive up to 200,000 Avios back per booking, while standard cardmembers are eligible for up to 50,000 Avios back. To qualify, cardmembers must spend £15,000 in a card membership year to earn a Companion Voucher.

The new arrangement offers several advantages over using a Companion Voucher on a standard Reward Flight. Bookings are not restricted to Reward Flight availability, can cover any cabin on any flight within a package, and are valid for up to nine travelers — making the benefit more accessible for families. Cardmembers also do not need to complete their outbound flight before the Voucher expires; as long as the Voucher is valid at the time of booking, travel can take place after expiry.

To redeem, cardmembers must submit an online form within 72 hours of making a qualifying booking at ba.com/holidays. The 25% Avios refund is then credited to their Executive Club account. For example, a cardmember using 40,000 Avios toward a holiday would receive 10,000 Avios back.

The standard Companion Voucher benefit — allowing a companion to travel on the same Reward Flight for no additional Avios, or a 50% Avios reduction for solo travelers — remains available on flights with British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus.
