SAS has completed the installation of Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire Airbus A320neo fleet, equipping all 81 aircraft just six months after beginning the rollout.
The A320neo is the first aircraft type in the SAS fleet to be fully equipped with Starlink and accounts for around 70% of the airline’s total fleet.
As a result, high-speed satellite internet is now available on a significant proportion of SAS flights across Scandinavia and Europe.

SAS Equips 81 A320neo Aircraft in Six Months
SAS launched Starlink on its aircraft in March 2026 with the goal of rapidly expanding the service across its fleet.
By September, installations had been completed on all 81 Airbus A320neo aircraft.
“Today, the installation across our entire A320neo fleet is complete, in record time,” said Paul Verhagen, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at SAS.
“Being connected has become a natural part of everyday life, and that doesn’t change when we board a plane. With gate-to-gate connectivity, our customers have more freedom to choose how they spend their time travelling with us.”
The installations were carried out alongside SAS’ normal flight operations. Each aircraft underwent installation, testing and approval before returning to passenger service.
Starlink Wi-Fi Available Gate to Gate
Starlink uses a network of low-Earth-orbit satellites to provide high-speed internet with lower latency than traditional satellite connectivity systems.
SAS passengers can use the connection for activities including browsing, messaging, working and streaming.
The airline is also offering gate-to-gate connectivity, meaning passengers can remain connected beyond the cruise phase of the flight rather than waiting until the aircraft reaches a specific altitude.

A320neo Fleet Covers Large Share of SAS European Flights
Completing the A320neo installation is particularly significant because the aircraft type forms the backbone of SAS’ short- and medium-haul operations.
The 81 aircraft represent approximately 70% of the airline’s total fleet and operate a large proportion of its services within Scandinavia and across Europe.
The scale of the A320neo fleet means the six-month rollout brings Starlink connectivity to a substantial share of SAS passengers without waiting for the airline’s entire fleet to be converted.
SAS Plans Starlink Installations on More Aircraft
SAS is now moving to the next phase of the programme.
Preparations are underway to equip the remaining aircraft types in its fleet, with further Starlink installations scheduled before the end of 2026.
The airline has not specified in the announcement when every aircraft in its wider fleet will have the technology installed.
The A320neo milestone comes during SAS’ 80th anniversary year, as the Scandinavian airline continues its wider investment in onboard technology and passenger services.
