Hurricane Gonzalo influences London Heathrow flights

A small disruption has been reported today at London Heathrow Airport due to Hurricane Gonzalo. This translated into a small number of UK flights being cancelled.
The Caribbean, on the other hand, has been more widely disrupted by the tail end of the hurricane which is associated to high winds and heavy rain.
Approximately 10% of the flights flying from Heathrow have been cancelled. Many passengers have been booked for alternative flights.
Heathrow London issued a warning earlier today that due to strong winds and weather conditions some flights might have to be delayed or cancelled.
“Please check your flight status with your airline before coming to the airport and leave extra time for your journey to and from the airport,” Heathrow stated.
“The forecast of poor weather has meant that, along with other airlines at Heathrow, we have made some proactive flight cancellations to give customers as much time as possible to be rebooked onto alternative flights.” - British Airways spokesman
Other UK airports are not subject to the weather disruption.
However, passengers are advised to check for warnings or official airport statements in the areas which can be influenced by Hurricane Gonzalo as storms are expected to intensify in the following period and temperatures are expected to drop significantly.
