Discover the Village Built out of Discarded Plastic Bottles

Out of respect for nature and a strong awareness feeling about of the harmful activity on the environment caused by their garbage, a small community on Isla Colón, in the Bocas del Toros Province, Panama began to use some amazing construction materials
The first plastic bottle houses have already been completed, but people hope to build 120 buildings of various sizes, arguing that unfortunately they have abundant material.
The Plastic Bottle Village is the creation of Robert Bezeau, who left Canada for Bocas a long time ago in order to put into practice his eco-projects. One of its main projects that had started in 2012 was one involving the collection of plastic bottles. While finishing the project, he started to think of how the plastic bottles could be put to use. Soon enough, he decided to use them to build houses, and came up with a basic idea for the construction process. He is now collaborating with top architecture firms across Panama as a part of the project.
The houses are built on steel frames, which are then filled with hundreds of recycled plastic bottles. After their installation and electrical wiring trace, the only thing left is the finishing of the facades and interior. Locals claim that the unusual choice of building material will insulate the house, keeping an optimum temperature inside the housing of about 17 ° C. The homes also own a septic tank system, standard windows, doors, and an exterior sidewalk.
