Manchester Airport Opens New Terminal 2 Shops & Dining

Airlines & Airports

Manchester Airport has opened a new section of its redeveloped Terminal 2 departure lounge, adding six shops and eateries as part of its £1.3bn, 10-year transformation project.

For the first time at the airport, LEGO®, Rituals, and Pandora have launched standalone stores. Travellers can also enjoy new food and drink options, including Starbucks, Joe & The Juice, and Upper Crust, as the airport gears up for the busy school summer holidays.

The expansion brings Terminal 2 closer to becoming the main hub for over 70% of passengers, with Terminal 1 set to close later this year. Further additions, including Chanel, a Fever Tree cocktail bar, Grindsmith by WH Smith, and the Great Northern Market food court, will open later in 2025.

Once complete, Terminal 2 will include 13 new flexible aircraft stands, a modern security hall, and a chandelier-lined passageway paying homage to Terminal 1’s iconic Venetian chandeliers from the 1980s and 1990s.

Since its 2021 extension debut, more than 30 million passengers have passed through Terminal 2, which earned a Prix Versailles design award in 2024.

Chris Woodroofe, Managing Director at Manchester Airport, said:
"With more of our new-look Terminal 2 now open, passengers will enjoy a world-class travel experience befitting a major international hub. These upgrades reflect the pride we take in connecting the North to the world."
