JetBlue, United Gain DOT Approval for Blue Sky Plan

JetBlue and United Airlines have completed the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) review of their Blue Sky collaboration, paving the way for its phased rollout beginning this fall.
The partnership will give customers expanded travel options and loyalty benefits:
-
MileagePlus® members can earn and redeem miles on most JetBlue flights, while TrueBlue members can do the same across United’s domestic and global network.
-
Seamless booking: Flights from both airlines will be available via their respective websites and apps through a shared interline agreement.
-
Cross-loyalty perks: Priority boarding, preferred seating, extra-legroom seats, and same-day standby/switch benefits will be honored across both carriers.
-
JFK Access: JetBlue will provide United access to seven daily round-trips from JFK Terminal 6 starting as early as 2027.
-
Tech and services integration: United will migrate its ancillary sales (hotels, rental cars, cruises, insurance) to JetBlue’s Paisly platform for improved booking capabilities.
Further details on additional benefits and timelines will be announced in the coming weeks.
