Munich Airport Opens Dedicated Service Hub for Arab Travelers
Munich Airport has taken a new step toward culturally tailored passenger services with the opening of a dedicated Bavarian-Arab Society office on its premises, creating a permanent contact point for travelers from Arab countries.
The society positions itself as a mediator between Arab passengers, airlines, the airport operator, and regional tourism and business partners, covering the full travel journey from arrival at the airport through the stay in Munich and Bavaria. Services include personal assistance, Meet & Assist programs, and coordination with Arab airline representatives and consulates to identify passenger needs and translate them into concrete service improvements.
The initiative is closely tied to Munich Airport's leadership: Dr. Jan-Henrik Andersson, the airport's Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Security Officer, also serves as president of the Bavarian-Arab Society. Youssef El Aobaidi serves as Vice President.
"Arab guests are warmly welcomed at Munich Airport. This spirit of hospitality should be experienced throughout the entire customer journey, not just in isolated instances," said Dr. Andersson.
The office opening coincides with the inauguration of a new Terminal 1 Pier designed specifically for Arab travelers, featuring premium retail, halal-friendly dining, and prayer rooms.
"The vision of the Bavarian-Arab Society is to create a vibrant platform for intercultural dialogue and economic exchange, and to strengthen Munich and Bavaria's appeal as destinations for Arab travelers," said Metin Ülker, General Manager of the society.
