Jet2 Launches Fully Funded Pilot Training Programme

Jet2.com has launched an innovative new initiative aimed at developing the next generation of pilots: the Jet2FlightPath programme, which offers fully funded flight training for aspiring pilots and integrates successful candidates into Jet2’s pilot workforce.

 

The programme opens a pathway for enthusiastic individuals who want to pursue a career as a commercial pilot but may face financial barriers to obtaining the necessary qualifications. Jet2 says the scheme will cover the full cost of pilot training through to the Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) and provide structured support throughout the training journey.

Jet2FlightPath is designed to identify and develop future pilots through a combination of theoretical instruction, simulator sessions and flight hours — all fully funded by the airline. It also includes mentoring, career guidance and the opportunity for successful candidates to secure a First Officer role with Jet2 upon completion of the training.

Applications have now opened for the first intake, and interested candidates are encouraged to apply online via the Jet2FlightPath website. The airline says the programme reflects its commitment to investing in skills development and supporting long-term workforce needs in the UK aviation sector.

Jet2 CEO said the initiative addresses industry-wide pilot shortages while creating opportunities for individuals with the passion and potential to become professional pilots. By removing the financial burden of flight school, Jet2 aims to widen access to pilot careers and foster more inclusive talent pipelines in aviation.

The Jet2FlightPath training scheme joins a range of existing workforce development and apprenticeship efforts by the airline, reinforcing its focus on career creation and long-term career paths within the airline industry.
