Four Seasons Opens Its First Hotel in Cartagena, Colombia

Hotels & Resorts

Four Seasons has arrived in Cartagena, opening its first hotel in Colombia's most storied coastal city and becoming the brand's third property in the country alongside its two Bogotá addresses.

The hotel occupies a thoughtfully restored collection of historic buildings in the vibrant Getsemaní neighbourhood, steps from the UNESCO World Heritage Site Walled City. At its heart is the former Club Cartagena, a 1920s landmark that has been reimagined while preserving its architectural character. The late French designer François Catroux led the interior vision for the heritage spaces, while WATG, Wimberly Interiors, AvroKO, and a roster of Colombian artists and artisans contributed to the overall aesthetic — a blend of Spanish colonial heritage, Caribbean colour, and contemporary elegance.

Guests can choose from 131 rooms and suites, including 27 colonial-style accommodations within the heritage buildings. The flagship Catroux Suite — the hotel's presidential suite — features two bedrooms, private elevator access, and a terrace with a handcrafted Moorish-inspired ceramic fountain.

Dining is a major draw, with eight restaurant and bar concepts spread across the property. Highlights include The Grand Grill in the former Club Cartagena developed by Major Food Group, Pizzeria Della Chiesa in a space that was once a church and later a theatre, and El Aljibe — billed as the city's first speakeasy. El Palmar offers rooftop 360-degree views for sunset drinks, while Café Rialto celebrates Colombian specialty coffee.

Wellness is handled by Umari Spa, set within a restored heritage building in the former cloisters, with six treatment rooms and a programme rooted in Colombian botanicals and ancestral healing traditions. Two rooftop pools offer panoramic views over the city and harbour.

For the opening period, Four Seasons is offering a 20 percent introductory rate with daily breakfast included.
