JetBlue Adds 11 Routes From Fort Lauderdale After Spirit Collapse
JetBlue is seizing the opportunity left by Spirit Airlines' collapse, announcing its largest-ever schedule from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport with 11 new destinations, increased frequencies on existing routes, and a loyalty status match for displaced Spirit members.
The expansion will see JetBlue operate nearly 130 daily departures from Fort Lauderdale this summer — more than 75 percent more than in 2025 — cementing its position as the airport's largest carrier.
Six of the new destinations are entirely new JetBlue cities from FLL: Barranquilla and Cali in Colombia, Baltimore, Charlotte, Columbus, and Indianapolis. Five additional routes connect Fort Lauderdale with cities already in JetBlue's network that previously lacked nonstop FLL service: Nashville, Detroit, Houston, Chicago, and Ponce in Puerto Rico. On top of the new routes, JetBlue is adding extra daily flights on high-demand existing services to Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Raleigh-Durham, Santo Domingo, and Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic. A new San Juan to Baltimore service rounds out the announcement, launching November 2.
Most of the new routes kick off on July 9, with the Colombian destinations and additional US cities following later in the year.
For Spirit's frequent flyers, JetBlue is offering a limited-time loyalty status match. Free Spirit Silver and Gold members can apply to match to JetBlue's TrueBlue Mosaic 1 or Mosaic 2 status respectively, giving them access to perks and benefits as they transition to a new carrier. JetBlue president Marty St. George acknowledged that many Spirit customers are feeling the loss of loyalty status they built over time and said the match is designed to offer them a smooth path forward.
All JetBlue flights include free unlimited Fly-Fi, seatback entertainment, and complimentary snacks and drinks as standard.
