China Eastern Launches Stockholm to Shanghai Flights in June

Airlines & Airports

China Eastern will launch direct flights between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport on June 22, 2026, establishing the first nonstop connection between Sweden and China's largest city.

The route will operate three times weekly, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. For Swedish travelers, the new service removes the need to connect through a third-country hub when traveling to Shanghai, cutting overall journey time and simplifying the booking process for both leisure and business passengers.

Shanghai is China's largest city and one of the world's leading financial and commercial centers, attracting significant volumes of business travel as well as tourists drawn to its mix of modern skyline, historic neighborhoods, and cultural attractions. The city also serves as a major gateway for onward travel within China and across Asia, with China Eastern operating an extensive domestic and regional network out of Pudong International Airport.

China Eastern is one of China's three major state-owned carriers and one of the largest airlines in the world, transporting more than 140 million passengers annually to over 1,000 destinations across more than 160 countries and regions. The new Stockholm service expands the airline's European footprint and strengthens direct air connectivity between Scandinavia and Asia.
