British Airways Offers Avios-Only Flights for October Half-Term

British Airways has announced two new Avios-Only flights for the October half-term break, giving Executive Club members the chance to redeem points for dedicated reward services to Tenerife or Reykjavík, with seats going on sale on June 3.

The Tenerife service departs London Heathrow on October 24, returning October 31, offering travelers a week of autumn sunshine, volcanic landscapes, and beach resorts during one of the year's busiest leisure travel periods. The Reykjavík option departs on October 25, returning November 1, and positions itself as an alternative escape for those seeking dramatic scenery, geothermal lagoons, and the possibility of catching the Northern Lights.

All seats on both flights are priced exclusively in Avios. Euro Traveller fares are available from £5 plus 33,500 Avios return, while Club Europe — including checked luggage — is priced from £40 plus 60,000 Avios return. British Airways American Express cardmembers can also apply their Companion Voucher to these bookings, either bringing a second passenger for no additional Avios or taking 50% off the Avios fare when traveling solo.

Avios-Only flights were introduced by British Airways in 2023 as dedicated services where every seat in every cabin is available exclusively through the airline's reward currency, designed to open up availability on popular leisure routes during peak travel windows. The airline has now operated more than 50 such services to destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East.
