British Airways Offers Access to Apple Pay in UK
Airline News

British Airways will offer its customers access to Apple Pay when the service launches in the UK.

This is expected to transform mobile payments.
British Airways customers will have the option of paying for flights and holidays easily and securely – in an attempt that is expected to transform mobile payments.
Since security and privacy is what Apple Pay is founded on, when you add a credit or debit card to Apple Pay, the actual data one cards is not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers.
Instead, a unique Device Account Number is given, after which it's encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element chip on your device.
Every transaction receives a one-time unique dynamic security code for authorization, instead of using the security code that's on the back of your card.
"We're thrilled to become one of the first companies in the UK to introduce Apple Pay, which will make booking flights with British Airways even easier," said Kevin McQuillan, head of BA.com.
"The addition of Apple Pay - along with the recent launch of our dedicated app for the Apple Watch, mobile gate notifications at Heathrow and our digital Executive Club membership card – are just some of the ways in which we are helping our customers by putting more travel essentials at their fingertips."
Apple Pay allows users to continue receiving all of the benefits and rewards offered by credit and debit cards.
Apple Pay works within the British Airways app with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch, upon availability.
