airBaltic launches Lapland route and expands Baltic services from Berlin
airBaltic is expanding its network from Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) with a new winter route to Finnish Lapland and increased services to key Baltic capitals.
tarting 12 December 2026, the airline will operate a weekly direct flight to Kuusamo in northern Finland. The service will run every Saturday until 27 March 2027, offering travelers access to one of Europe’s most popular winter destinations. Kuusamo serves as a gateway to the Ruka ski resort, known for its reliable snow conditions, winter sports, and experiences such as Northern Lights viewing, husky safaris and snowshoeing.
In addition to the new Lapland route, airBaltic is significantly boosting its Baltic operations. Flights to Riga now operate up to ten times per week, with double daily services on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and daily flights on other weekdays. The schedule is designed to suit both business travelers and short leisure trips, while also providing convenient onward connections through the airline’s main hub.
Vilnius is also gaining improved connectivity, with three weekly flights operating on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays. The Lithuanian capital continues to attract visitors with its Baroque old town, creative scene and relaxed atmosphere, making it an increasingly popular city-break destination.
The expanded schedule strengthens Berlin’s connections to Northern and Eastern Europe, offering passengers more flexibility and access to both winter tourism destinations and growing Baltic city markets.
