IHG expands Vignette Collection across Greater China

IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its Vignette Collection across Greater China, with hotels joining the portfolio in Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Beidaihe, Qiandao Lake and Sanya during 2026. The growth also includes the recent addition of The Hari Hong Kong in Wan Chai.

In an October 15 update, IHG highlighted how the luxury collection is developing across city and resort destinations, with properties retaining their own identities while introducing experiences linked to local culture and surroundings.

“Luxury travellers today are increasingly looking for personalised experiences that reflect their interests and leave a lasting impression,” said Rita Jiang, Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer, Greater China, IHG Hotels & Resorts.

“Vignette Collection celebrates the individuality of its hotels and their connections to local culture, lifestyles and communities, offering guests experiences that go beyond the stay.”

Chongqing and Shanghai hotels draw on local design

At TFT Chongqing, Vignette Collection, the city’s bridges and the hotel’s setting overlooking the confluence of two rivers inform the design. Bridge-inspired details appear in the interiors, room keys, themed afternoon tea and story cards.

THE ONE Shanghai Downtown, Vignette Collection takes its architectural and interior cues from Shanghai’s Art Deco heritage. A partnership with a local art centre also connects guests with the city’s creative scene beyond the property.

The approach allows hotels within the collection to maintain a distinct character rather than follow a uniform design.

Skiing, coastal mornings and Chengdu traditions

Several properties are introducing activities shaped by their locations.

Shanghai Snow World Hotel, Vignette Collection sits within the Shanghai L+SNOW Indoor Skiing Theme Resort. A bell signals the start of its après-ski gathering, where guests can have drinks beside an electric fireplace. Introductory sessions are also available for first-time skiers.

At Resea Hotel Beidaihe, Vignette Collection, a sunrise ritual invites guests to watch the first light over the sea, making the coastal setting part of the stay.

Palm Springs Hotel Chengdu, Vignette Collection offers hands-on experiences inspired by Shu embroidery and fragrance-making, introducing visitors to local traditions.

Hong Kong properties support art and community projects

The Hari Hong Kong, Vignette Collection brings an emphasis on art and culture to the portfolio. Through The Hari Art Prize, the Wan Chai hotel provides a platform for emerging artists based in Hong Kong.

Elsewhere in the city, WM Hotel Hong Kong, Vignette Collection draws on Sai Kung’s waterfront setting and maritime heritage. Working with a local non-profit international school, the hotel has organised a clean-up at Sha Ha Beach to encourage participation in marine conservation.

At The Azure Ningbo, Vignette Collection, an operational initiative turns coffee grounds and food waste into compost for plants and hotel gardens.

These activities form part of the collection’s wider approach to combining individual hotel identities, signature guest experiences and support for local communities.
