Brussels Airport adds four destinations to winter network

Brussels Airport adds four destinations to winter network

Brussels Airport will offer 136 direct destinations during winter 2026–2027, including four additions to its network: Santiago de Compostela, Nantes, Kemi-Tornio and Evenes.

The winter schedule begins on October 25, with airlines also adding services to established leisure destinations and increasing capacity on selected routes. The announcement comes as the airport prepares to handle more than 1.7 million passengers during Belgium’s autumn holiday period.

Four new routes launch between October and February

EasyJet will introduce twice-weekly flights to Nantes, France, on October 26. Fly2Galicia, a new airline at Brussels Airport, will follow with two weekly flights to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, from December 1.

Brussels Airlines will add two Nordic destinations later in the season. Flights to Kemi-Tornio in Finland will operate twice weekly from December 25, while a weekly service to Evenes in Norway will begin on February 6, 2027.

The additions broaden the airport’s options for city breaks, pilgrimage travel and winter trips to northern Europe.

Transavia expands and Etihad adds Abu Dhabi flights

Transavia, which established a full base at Brussels Airport during the summer, will introduce three weekly flights to Las Palmas from October 28 and two weekly flights to Reykjavik from October 30. A three-times-weekly Porto service will begin on December 14.

Brussels Airlines and Finnair will both serve Kittilä in Finnish Lapland during the winter season, adding options for ski holidays and other winter activities.

Etihad will increase its Brussels–Abu Dhabi schedule from seven to 11 weekly flights from December 15.

According to the airport, Spain, Morocco and the Canary Islands remain popular choices for winter sunshine, while Nordic destinations continue to attract passengers seeking snow and outdoor activities. Its wider network includes 40 nonstop intercontinental destinations.

Autumn holidays expected to bring 1.7 million passengers

Brussels Airport expects more than 1.7 million travellers across the autumn holiday period, with Friday, October 16 forecast to be the busiest day at approximately 82,000 passengers.

The holiday travel period for French-speaking schools begins on October 16, followed by the Dutch-speaking school holiday period from October 30.

Unlike in 2025, the two communities’ holidays do not overlap this year. The airport said this makes a direct year-on-year comparison difficult.

Airport advises earlier arrival for non-Schengen flights

Passengers are advised to arrive two hours before departure for flights within the Schengen area and three hours before non-Schengen departures.

The airport also recommends checking hand luggage rules before travelling to help keep security screening moving efficiently. Travellers arriving by car can reserve parking online in advance, while public transport provides another option for reaching the terminal.
