Volotea has launched nonstop flights between Berlin Brandenburg Airport and Florence, adding the Tuscan capital to BER’s destination network for the first time.
The Spanish low-cost airline operates the route up to twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Flights use a 156-seat Airbus A319, with a journey time of just under two hours.
The service gives travellers from Berlin and Brandenburg a direct connection to Florence for city breaks and visits to Tuscany.
Flights Scheduled for Autumn, Christmas and Spring
The route will operate during selected periods rather than continuously throughout the year. Volotea’s schedule includes flights in September and October, over the Christmas period until early January, and again from late March with the start of the summer timetable.
The autumn and spring services coincide with milder weather suited to exploring the city on foot, while the Christmas schedule adds an option for a winter break.
A New Direct Link to Tuscany’s Capital
Florence’s historic centre, Renaissance architecture and art collections make it one of Italy’s best-known cultural destinations. Many of its main sights are close together, allowing visitors to cover much of the centre on foot.
For BER, the launch broadens its Italian network with a destination that was not previously served directly from the airport.
Founded in 2011 and based in Barcelona, Volotea serves more than 100 destinations across Europe. Its fleet comprises around 45 Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft.
