As long-haul destinations are becoming preferred by UK travelers, Thomson and First Choice launch Sri Lanka trips departing from London Gatwick airport
Long-haul traveling is the new black for people seeking more adventure, better weather and cultural diversity from their holidays. Ambitious destinations are currently being chosen by Brits who eager to explore all the corners of the world. The travel industry has recorded an 800 per cent global increase of long-haul trips when compared to ten years ago.
With a 350 per cent increase in long haul passengers in the last ten years, new destinations such as Mexico’s Pacific Coast and Mauritius were added as long-distance destinations for 2015 by British operators.
While Thomson and First Choice previously added Costa Rica and Thailand as exotic destinations in their services, now Sri Lanka will follow long-haul destinations for people who enjoy traveling long distances. Starting winter 2016, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner will operate the journeys from London Gatwick airport.
