Air Serbia Returns to Munich After 18-Year Absence

Airlines & Airports

After an 18-year absence, Air Serbia is coming back to Munich. Starting May 22, 2026, the Serbian carrier will operate daily direct flights between Munich Airport and Belgrade, reconnecting the two cities with a quick 1.5-hour journey.

The route will be served by modern Embraer E195 jets configured in two classes — Business and Economy — with a total of 118 seats on board. Departure times will vary depending on the day of the week. From Munich, morning flights at 9:30 a.m. will run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while evening departures at 8:15 p.m. are scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The pattern is similar from Belgrade, with early morning departures at 7:10 a.m. on the same morning days, and afternoon departures at 5:55 p.m. on the remaining days.

The timing of the return is no coincidence — it coincides with the opening of Munich Airport's new Terminal 1 pier. Munich Airport CEO Jost Lammers welcomed the news, highlighting the route's importance for connections to Serbia and the broader Balkan region.

Air Serbia CEO Jiří Marek framed the link as more than just a flight path, describing it as a bridge between Serbia and Bavaria — one of Europe's most economically active regions — with clear benefits for both business travelers and tourists on either side.

From its Belgrade hub, Air Serbia also offers a range of onward connections across the region and internationally. Tickets are already available for booking.
