Park Hyatt Siem Reap Partners with World Monuments Fund for Angkor

Park Hyatt Siem Reap has announced a partnership with the World Monuments Fund (WMF) to support ongoing conservation efforts at the Angkor temple complex in Cambodia, one of the most visited UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world.

The collaboration connects the hotel's guests with Cambodia's cultural heritage through curated experiences while contributing financially to WMF's preservation and training programs at Angkor. WMF has been active at the site since the 1990s, investing approximately $19.5 million in conservation work carried out predominantly by Cambodian professionals trained through its programs. More than 100 Cambodian conservation technicians have been supported annually, many working with WMF for 15 years or more, generating an estimated $20–25 million in local economic impact.

WMF's work spans several major sites within the Angkor complex, including Angkor Wat, Phnom Bakheng, Preah Khan, and Ta Som. The organization's long-running training initiative helps rebuild technical conservation knowledge lost through decades of conflict, ensuring that preservation remains locally led as the site faces increasing environmental and visitor pressures from over two million annual visitors.

"For nearly four decades, WMF has worked alongside our Cambodian partners at Angkor to safeguard one of the world's most important cultural landscapes while rebuilding the technical knowledge needed to sustain it," said Bénédicte de Montlaur, President and CEO of World Monuments Fund. "Support from Park Hyatt Siem Reap strengthens this work by connecting responsible tourism with hands-on conservation."

"We are honored to support the important work World Monuments Fund has carried out at Angkor for decades," said Himanshu Kapoor, General Manager of Park Hyatt Siem Reap. "We are excited to offer guests a unique opportunity to connect more deeply to Cambodia's rich heritage."

The partnership aligns with Hyatt's broader World of Care sustainability and community investment framework.
