The best restaurant to eat in the world according to experts

News

More than 1,000 food experts agreed that Italy has the best restaurant to eat in the whole wide world.

Osteria Francescana is the no. 1 best restaurant not only in Italy but in the entire world. This is the conclusion that over 1,000 experts in the food industry have reached after tasting one special dish here. This dish incorporates Parmigiano Reggiano in 5 different ways.

The list of World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2018 was recently published and the rankings were established based on votes from various chefs, restaurateurs in this industry and writers. The second place was occupied by El Celler De Can Roca, a restaurant in Girona, Spain, whereas Mirazur, a restaurant in Menton, France, was ranked the third in this list.

Osteria Francescana is located in Modena, Italy and is run by chef Massimo Bottura. Worth mentioning is that this restaurant won the no. 1 best restaurant in the world title in 2016 as well. Here, people can order various diner dishes that are made of various traditional and local ingredients, combined with the modern ones.

The Parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegar are two of the ingredients that Modena is mostly renowned for and that don’t miss from the dishes created by chef Bottura. The most popular dish is the Five Ages of Parmigiano Reggiano, where the chef combines various taste profiles, textures, and temperatures of the region’s cheese.

Another amazing dish you can find here includes a suckling pig, which is served with the already known traditional balsamic vinegar and a seafood selection such as the Adriatic chowder, which combines blue lobster, sea snails, truffle clam chowder and razor clams into a pie crust. It’s no wonder why Bottura’s restaurant holds three Michelin stars.

If you’re interested in an a-la-carte menu or a 10-course tasting menu, you’ll have to spend about 250 euros per person and an extra of 20 euros in case you want to opt for the 12-course tasting menu.
