Tarom airline, in partnership with the service provider for the aviation industry dnat, part of the Emirates Group introduces AirFi, the smallest on board portable entertainment system in the world
The device is small, as two AirFi systems can entertain an aircraft with 180 seats, while four devices can meet the need of connectivity of 280 passengers, declared the responsible of Tarom in a press release. The travelers can connect to the system directly from their mobile device browser without the need to install any applications. Also, the interface is scalable to any size of screen resolutions or mobile device - phone, tablet or laptop.
AirFi platform offers the passengers the ability to navigate through an online store, to chat with other passengers, to play games, find out information about the travel destinations, read magazines, newspapers, news - as newsfeeds, watch videos and listen to the music. The platform also includes a questionnaire on airline services.
AirFi console autonomy is up to 14 hours. At every landing the AirFi box content is updated. "The need for information, mobility and constant connectivity has led us to launch a service whereby passengers can find out the latest information, to see their favorite movie or know all the details about the trip and the final destination," says Gabriel Stoe, General Director Tarom.
