Portugal title wins at the WGA Gala Ceremony 2015

The country won the title of World’s Best Golf Destination for the second consecutive year at the World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony 2015

The event taking place at Conrad Algarve, Portugal, hosted by Steve Rider and Ela Clark, acknowledged Ernie Els Design with the title of World’s Golf Course Designer of the Year and Bernard Gallacher with the World Golf Awards Lifetime Achievement Award trophy .

World Golf Awards managing director Christopher Frost declared about the glamorous event:

“We have seen some true champions emerge here this evening at the second annual World Golf Awards.

“It has been a privilege to recognize the international leaders in golf hospitality and to shine the spotlight on some of the best golfing destinations from around the world.

“Can I offer my sincere thanks to those who have joined us here at the Conrad Algarve this evening and my congratulations to those among them who have emerged victorious on this wonderful night.”

World’s Best Golf Course title was won again by St Andrews Old Course Links. Las Colinas Golf & Country Club was declared to be Spain’s Best Golf Course, while Belfry claimed the title of England’s Best Golf Hotel.

Portugal Golf Membership was elected to be Golf Partner for the Ceremony of 2015, and of course, Laurent-Perrier provided champagne refreshment during the gala. Following the event, the guests enjoyed the unique features of the famous Quinta do Lago Resort.
