First customized vessel, especially build for the Chinese market, will be introduced by cruise industry leading innovator Norwegian Cruise Line in 2017

Currently under construction, the new ship is designed to specifically meet Chinese guests' preferences. The vessel will be the second of Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway Plus class and will operate Freestyle Cruising trips, for a resort-style vacation experience at the highest levels.

Frank Del Rio, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings chief executive, comments:

“Our new purpose-built ship for China will have characteristics that are authentic to Norwegian Cruise Line and yet distinctively Chinese in all of its sensibility.

“With this new ship, Norwegian will unquestionably offer our Chinese guests a superior product and introduce a new standard of innovation and excellence into the marketplace, with an unrivaled level of customization for the Chinese consumer.

“It will perfectly suit what modern Chinese travelers value from an upscale cruise experience.”

The 4,200 guests capacity ship will be provided with unmatched customized features, for a unique cruise experience summing up premium-quality service, cuisine and entertainment packages, yet not available on the Chinese market.

The ship's name will be unveiled in the upcoming months.

NCL's first customized cruising vessel for China is expected to be delivered in spring 2017.
