Jet2 has revealed the flights most likely to provide passengers with spectacular aerial views of the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, as the celestial event crosses parts of Europe, including Spain and Portugal.
The airline has identified ten scheduled evening services that are expected to fly close to the eclipse’s path of totality, potentially giving thousands of holidaymakers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the phenomenon from above the clouds.
Among the flights offering the strongest viewing potential are services from Ibiza to Bristol (LS1836) and Ibiza to London Stansted (LS1516), both expected to pass near the path of totality over northern Spain and the Bay of Biscay. Other routes with excellent viewing opportunities include flights from Faro, Tenerife, Agadir, Alicante, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Zakynthos to destinations across the UK.
Jet2 noted that visibility will ultimately depend on weather conditions, flight routing, departure times and passengers’ seating positions.
The airline also highlighted several popular holiday destinations located within or close to the eclipse zone, including Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Alicante, Barcelona, Girona, Costa Brava, Costa Dorada, Costa de Almeria, the Algarve, Marrakech, and Agadir, where visitors may enjoy excellent ground-based views.

Jet2 is reminding travelers to observe the eclipse safely by using certified solar eclipse glasses, protecting cameras with approved solar filters, and avoiding direct viewing of the Sun without proper eye protection.
