Jazeera Airways Launches Kuwait to Milan Bergamo Flights
Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's leading low-cost carrier, has launched three-weekly nonstop service between Kuwait City and Milan Bergamo Airport, inaugurated on May 22, 2026, with flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays using Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The route marks Jazeera Airways' first destination in Europe and, according to the airline's CEO, the foundation of a broader planned expansion across the continent. "Milan Bergamo marks far more than the launch of a new destination for Jazeera Airways. With this new destination, we are not just launching flights to Italy but establishing a gateway to Europe," said Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, adding that further European destinations will be announced in due course.
The launch was attended by Kuwait's Ambassador to Italy, Nasser Alqahtani, alongside airport and aviation authority representatives from both countries. Italy's civil aviation authority ENAC highlighted the route as a tangible result of strengthening bilateral relations between Italy and Kuwait, which this year marks 62 years of diplomatic ties.
For Milan Bergamo Airport, the arrival of Jazeera Airways is its first Kuwait connection and part of a wider strategy to expand links with the Gulf region. The route also provides onward connectivity through Jazeera's network of over 34 destinations across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and Africa. The airline carries more than five million passengers annually and plans to expand to 60 destinations for the upcoming summer season.
