Iberia unveils record summer schedule with over 21 million seats

Airlines & Airports

Iberia has announced its largest summer schedule to date, offering more than 21.4 million seats across its global network for the 2026 season.

The expansion, which begins on 29 March, includes increased capacity across most markets, with the strongest growth seen in North America and Latin America.

In Europe and domestic Spanish routes, Iberia will offer nearly 16 million seats. The airline is also adding new destinations including Bucharest and Tivat, further strengthening its European network.

North America will see the largest increase, with capacity rising by over 19% to more than 1.28 million seats. Toronto joins the network as a new destination, with flights from Madrid launching on 13 June. In the United States, Iberia is boosting frequencies to key cities, including New York, where it will operate three daily flights.

In Latin America, Iberia will offer more than 3.35 million seats, representing a 7.6% increase compared to last summer. New routes include Monterrey in Mexico, while frequencies are also increasing across major destinations such as Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Santo Domingo.

Additional growth is also planned across Africa and Asia, with nearly 800,000 seats added to these regions.

The expansion is part of Iberia’s long-term Flight Plan 2030 strategy and is supported by the addition of new aircraft, including A321XLR and A350-900 models.

The airline is also increasing frequencies on several popular European routes, including Athens, Milan and Nice, while continuing to expand its seasonal network to Mediterranean destinations.
