Hyatt Partners With Dossen Group to Expand in China

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is making a significant push into China's upper-midscale hotel market, announcing a master franchise agreement with Huanyue International Holdings, a subsidiary of Dossen Group, to exclusively develop and operate Hyatt Select brand hotels across mainland China.

The deal combines Hyatt's global brand recognition and commercial platform with Dossen Group's deep local footprint — the company is one of China's leading hotel operators — creating what both sides describe as a complementary partnership built for scale. Hyatt Select hotels will be connected to the World of Hyatt loyalty programme, which now counts over 66 million members globally, giving properties instant access to a large base of engaged travellers.

The Hyatt Select brand sits within Hyatt's Essentials portfolio, designed around a streamlined, high-quality guest experience focused on comfort, convenience, and consistent delivery. The brand's efficient operating model supports both new builds and conversions, with cost-effective design intended to lower barriers for hotel owners and support attractive long-term returns.

The timing is deliberate. China's upper-midscale hotel sector is entering a new phase, with increasingly sophisticated travellers seeking internationally recognised brands that offer reliable quality at accessible price points. Hyatt and Dossen are positioning the partnership to capture that growing demand as it accelerates.

Hyatt's President for Greater China Stephen Ho described Dossen as the ideal franchisee to bring the Hyatt Select experience to the country, citing the group's market expertise, nationwide network, and technology-driven operational approach. Dossen founder and CEO Xinhua Cheng framed the collaboration as a meeting of global brand strength and local execution capability, with both sides expecting to scale the brand quickly across key Chinese destinations.
