Iberia to Launch Direct Madrid–Monterrey Flights in June 2026

Iberia has announced a new direct route between Madrid and Monterrey, set to launch on June 2, 2026, with three weekly flights. The move marks a significant expansion in the airline’s operations in Mexico, one of its most important international markets.

 

The route will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with outbound flights leaving Madrid at 13:10 and arriving in Monterrey at 17:05 local time. Return flights will depart Monterrey at 18:35, landing in Madrid at 13:05 the next day.

Iberia will operate the route with its Airbus A330-200, a twin-aisle aircraft offering 288 seats across Business and Economy classes. Flights will use Terminal A at Monterrey International Airport.

“We are reinforcing our commitment to such an important, strategic, and beloved market as Mexico,” said María Jesús López Solás, Iberia’s Director of Sales, Customers, Network and Alliances.

The new service adds to Iberia’s three daily flights between Madrid and Mexico City, operated with Airbus A350s, and brings the airline’s total capacity between Spain and Mexico to over 800,000 seats for 2026 — the highest among all Iberia’s Latin American routes.

The Monterrey route will initially run through the European summer season (June to October), adding around 40,000 seats, with plans to extend service into the winter schedule. Details on the extended timetable will be announced soon.

With this addition, Iberia strengthens its role as a key connector between Europe and Mexico, supporting growing demand for both business and leisure travel across the Atlantic.
