Etihad signs Swiss AviationSoftware agreement

Airline News

The strategic partnership provides the airline and its partners commercial and operating flexibility and a common maintenance platform

The Swiss-AS software solution will also provide technological opportunities for Etihad's partners, including airberlin, Alitalia and Jet Airways.

The group will share the benefits of the Swiss-AS’ AMOS leading maintenance software on the global aviation market.

The innovative management information system promises an integrated comprehensive approach of key business sectors such as maintenance and engineering management, financial and quality assurance as well as human resources. AMOS is used by more than 140 airlines around the world.

The Etihad Airways air fleet is composed of 120 aircrafts and 200 more currently on order. Among them five Airbus A380s and five Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be enabled to use the AMOS system.

Richard Hill, Etihad Airways’ chief operations officer, commented on the new partnership:

“This strategic agreement means that we can benefit from significant business synergies across equity partners through a seamless, transparent, and fully-aligned system.

“Aircraft transfers and parts sharing processes will operate under a common platform and become more flexible and efficient as a direct result – a key element of our group-wide maintenance strategy.”

For the future, Etihad Airways and its partners will create the AMOS Centre of Excellence to boost operational processes and efficiency within the group.

“This agreement showcases our technology strategy of sharing common platforms and sustainable solutions to increase information sharing and promote better cooperation across Etihad Airways and our equity partners.

“Etihad Airways and Etihad Airways Engineering will benefit from these best practice initiatives, which are supported by an expert team that combines in-depth engineering knowledge with the latest technology skills”, said Robert Webb, the company's chief information and technology officer.
