
Emirates to invest in state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system

Delivery for the order featuring Optiq 4k QLED HDR smart displays, over 5,000 live high-definition TV channels and AVANT Up digital services, is expected to begin in 2024.
Emirates’ Chief Operating Officer Adel al Redha commented:
“Emirates has always regarded in-flight entertainment as an essential aspect of our onboard experience, and we were in fact the first airline to put personal screens onto every single seat onboard when that was far from the norm over 30 years ago.
“Today, Emirates ice remains unmatched in in-flight entertainment content and experience, having won best-in-the-sky awards consecutively for the past 14 years. Our investment in next-generation Thales systems for our new A350 fleet will further our lead, enabling us to deliver even better experiences to our customers. Watch this space.”
Emirates is as well the first carrier worldwide to choose Thales’ Pulse, the patented power management technology boosting device charging while onboard.

The entertainment system’s will cost US$350m for the entire A350 fleet .
Emirates and Thales Avionics are expected to continue their partnership also in the future, via Dubai’s Aviation X-Lab programmes.
