Los Angeles Airport evacuated because of a security incident

Hundreds of people were evacuated from the Los Angeles International Airport with the police investigating a series of unconfirmed reports that there would be gunshots, writes Reuters. On social networks, witnesses claim that there were could be heard gunshots at the airport. Police in Los Angeles declared that the loud noises are made just by the passengers.

A man dressed as Zorro, carrying his plastic sword, was arrested at the airport in Los Angeles after a fake alert about possible gunfire during the night from Sunday to Monday, the airport authority confirming the resumed operations after all terminals were searched and found to be safe, informs AFP.


The information regarding gunshots at the airport in Los Angeles proved to be just loud noises. There were no gunshots, no wounded. The investigation continues for locating the source of these noises, wrote on his Twitter account a spokesman of the Californian metropolis police, Andy Neiman.


Los Angeles airport administration also wrote on Twitter, that "a man dressed as Zorro was detained by the police" and that several terminals were searched, declared to be safe and then reopened. The airport administration previously announced that the departures and arrivals areas of central terminal had been closed.


However, a security incident did take place, because people and security forces at the airport precipitated to the exit aria. According to the information available on Twitter, where there was posted a video, the incident appeared to have occurred inside of a terminal of the airport.
