Wizz Air Launches Turku–Bucharest Flights in October

Airlines & Airports

Wizz Air is expanding its presence in Finland with a new direct route from Turku Airport to Bucharest, set to launch on October 27, 2025. The twice-weekly service will operate on Mondays and Fridays using 239-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft.

The new route strengthens Turku Airport’s European network and reflects Wizz Air’s continued investment in the Romanian market. The airline already serves Turku with flights to Gdańsk and has previously connected the city to destinations including Rome, Skopje, Kraków, and Budapest.

“We’re pleased about this new opening at Turku Airport,” said Petri Vuori, Finavia’s Director of Route Development. “It supports both tourism and business in the region by improving connections across Europe.”

Carol Aren, Director of Air Traffic Development at Visit Turku Archipelago, noted that the route will particularly serve travelers visiting friends and relatives. “Wizz Air’s flexible model allows them to quickly respond to new market opportunities—something traditional carriers can’t always match.”

Turku Airport continues to grow its connectivity, with current routes also operated by SAS to Copenhagen and Stockholm, and by Air Baltic to Riga.
