Wizz Air Adds Madrid and Catania Flights from Gdańsk

Airlines & Airports

Wizz Air, Europe’s most environmentally sustainable airline*, is set to expand its Polish network with two new routes from Gdańsk Lech Walesa Airport, connecting travellers directly to Madrid, Spain, and Catania, Italy starting October 28, 2025.

Both routes will operate three times a weekTuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays – with fares starting at PLN 179 for Catania and PLN 209 for Madrid, now available on wizzair.com and via the WIZZ app.

Madrid offers visitors world-renowned museums, lively plazas, and a vibrant cultural scene, while Catania, set between Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea, boasts baroque charm, Sicilian cuisine, and stunning seaside views – perfect for autumn and winter escapes.

These new routes strengthen Wizz Air’s position at Gdańsk, one of its six Polish bases. In 2025 alone, the airline has already operated over 8,000 flights to and from the city, serving nearly 1.7 million bookings and offering flights to 37 destinations across 19 countries.

Gabriele Imperiale, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said:

“We are thrilled to connect northern Poland with two popular southern European destinations. As travel demand grows, Madrid and Catania reflect our commitment to offering affordable, sustainable, and diverse travel options to our passengers.”
