Volodymyr Zelensky returns to Presidential office in Kyiv

News

“I stay here, in Kyiv, on Bankova, not hiding. And I am not afraid of anyone as long as needed to win this war, our national war,” Zelensky commented in the video he recently uploaded on his Facebook page.

This is the first time the Ukrainian President visited his office in the country’s capital since the war began on February 24th.

Meanwhile, the fourth round of negotiations is to be decided. However, according to statement from Russian delegates, it is also expected to be unsuccessful. The exact time and location for the meetings are yet to be announced.

So far, the first three rounds of negotiations failed. The logistic agreement on evacuating civilians was the only progress made after the delegates met at the Belarus border.

At the same time, officials have announced the killing of Russian senior officer Major General Vitaly Gerasimov, as the Ukrainian army still resists the military invasion.

Foreign volunteers from the US, UK, Sweden, Lithuania, Mexico and India joined Ukraine’s international legion, with the first batch currently fighting outside the city of Kyiv.

Nevertheless, the situation in Lviv is critical, as resources are scarce and lots of civilians are homeless. “We really need support,” commented mayor Andriy Sadovyi.

Lviv is the main transit station for refugees aiming to reach Poland, with more than 1.7 million Ukrainians trying to cross the border each day.

Kyiv, Sumy and Okhtyrka were also shelled continuously, as the conflict accounts for 13 consecutive days of death and destruction. Towns of Zhytomyr and Cherniakhiv are also under attack.

Number of casualties is yet to be disclosed.
