Virgin Voyages Has Announced New Investments And Global Itineraries

Cruise Lines & Cruise Ships

The $550 million funding round completed by Virgin Voyages will be used to speed up the company's expansion goals.

Virgin Voyages will be able to fortify its financial footing and continue its quick development into foreign markets with the help of the additional finance. Since its formal debut in August 2021, Virgin Voyages has operated three ships, which have visited the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and will soon set sail across Australia and New Zealand.

Through April 2025, Virgin Voyages has also prepared 27 new itineraries, including 19 new ports. The new offers span the world, with the United Kingdom making a comeback due to popular demand, as well as new locations in Australia and the Caribbean.

“Our loyal sailors have been asking for more places to visit with us, so we’re delivering in a big way. New ports, new itineraries and more local and immersive experiences to create unforgettable getaways.

“From Morocco to Mooloolaba, Amsterdam to Bordeaux, Catania to Port Douglas, we now offer more than 120 incredible places you can explore aboard our award-winning ships you know and love. After all, it’s not just about where you go; it’s about who you go with and make a holiday one to remember”, senior VP Michelle Bentubo commented with the occasion.

After making its debut in Australia, the company's latest ship, Resilient Lady, will set cruise from Athens on three different itineraries in May, June, and July of 2024. Starry Nights in Greece & Croatia is a seven-night cruise that combines the famous "Greek Island Glow" itinerary, which includes Santorini and Mykonos, with the "Adriatic Sea and Greek Gems" voyage, which sails down Croatia's Dalmatian Coast and makes stops at Kotor and Corfu.

Beginning in the middle of August 2024, the Resilient Lady will once again sail under the flag of Great Britain, offering cruises of three to six nights' duration. The tour titled "English Sights and European Delights" that stops at Bordeaux's Le Verdon, as well as La Coruna, Bilbao, Amsterdam, and Bruges, is a must-see.

Starting October 2024 from Athens, the Resilient Lady will undertake a 44-night shift to Australia, including calls in ports like as Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, and Bali. Broome, Albany, Adelaide, Newcastle, Mooloolaba, Port Douglas, Brisbane, Eden, and Kangaroo Island will all be added to the ship's itinerary line-up, along with a total of nine additional Australian ports.

During its first 2023 winter season, the Valiant Lady will sail from Miami on itineraries including the "Eastern Caribbean Antilles" and the "Western Caribbean Charm." The ship will take over for Scarlet Lady during its dry docking in 2024. Scarlet's four- and five-night Caribbean rotations will continue to be available on the Valiant Lady, with the addition of a six-night "Holidaze and Nights" cruise, all of which depart from Miami.

Scarlet will sail the two seven-night itineraries offered by Valiant Lady between May and October of 2024, dubbed "Irresistible Med" and "French Daze and Ibiza Nights." Starting on November 3 from Barcelona, Scarlet will make stops in Mallorca, Corsica, and Sardinia on her 11-night shifting cruise to Civitavecchia. The Scarlet Lady will sail from Rome to Miami on a 16-night transatlantic cruise after a brief dry dock for regular upkeep, upgrades, and recalibrations. The ship will make stops in Funchal (Madeira, Portugal) and Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain).

Scarlet Lady will sail from Miami to the Caribbean on six- and eight-night winter cruises beginning on December 14, 2024. These itineraries will include Valiant's hallmark "Western Caribbean Charm" and "Eastern Caribbean Antilles." These extended itineraries from Miami include late-night stays in San Juan, genuine adventures in Roatan, and a day excursion to St. Croix.

While launching three medium-sized ships in under two years, Virgin is vulnerable to international difficulties. The launch of Virgin Voyages' new ship, Brilliant Lady, has been delayed due to unforeseen construction, logistics, and personnel issues. The firm has taken the difficult choice to delay the release of Brilliant Lady. As soon as Virgin Voyages is certain it can meet the high expectations of its customers, the company will consider additional launch window options.

Guests whose reservations have been called off will receive special offers, including incentives for making another reservation as well as onboard credit, once the new departure date is made public.

Anyone affected by the revised itineraries will have the opportunity to rebook with $300-$600 in onboard credit or a full refund, all of which are guaranteed by Virgin Voyages' pricing and promotion protection policies.

Customers booking a Mediterranean cruise for 2024 by September 28th, may save 30% plus get a free $600 bar tab. In addition, $500 savings are available on a few repositioning trips and select Caribbean cruises.

The updated schedules will be viewable and bookable as of September 11, 2023.
