Venezuela disagrees travel ban from U.S. Administration

Officials in the country accused Trump of "psychological terrorism" after travel restrictions issued last week.
The travel ban imposed by the Trump Administration on Sunday, also including Venezuela, North Korea and Chad, is seen by the Venezuelan authorities as “psychological terrorism”, as the country’s Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza considers the Washington's decision to be a violation of the international law.
“In a gesture of political hypocrisy, and brazenness, Donald Trump is imposing a tax on humanity and on the values of peace and prosperity,” Arreaza declared.
The decision of President Trump came due to the fact that the government in the South American nation, led by President Nicolas Maduro, was considered to have “democratic failures”. On the other hand, the opposition has a different opinion.
“In Venezuela there are working people, entrepreneurs, people who want to get ahead, and it cannot be that for a small group who are in the government stealing, violating human rights, all Venezuelans have to suffer in this way, just for being Venezuelan” lawmaker Angel Alvarez commented.
The new ban includes 8 countries, targeted for unsafe security protocols and public safety concerns: Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Chad, North Korea and Venezuela.
The restrictions were issued on an indefinite period of time and currently affect both immigrants and tourists.
