United Supports Girl Scouts with Mileage Donations

United Airlines teams up with Girl Scouts of the USA to fund travel experiences for young leaders. MileagePlus members can donate miles to support Girl Scout adventures, with United matching the first million miles.
United Airlines is embarking on a novel initiative this March, aligning with International Women's Day and the 112th anniversary of the Girl Scouts, by inviting MileagePlus® members to donate miles to the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). This effort aims to enable transformative travel experiences for Girl Scouts, reinforcing the role of travel in fostering leadership skills and global awareness.
United's Miles on a Mission℠ program will double the impact by matching the first one million miles donated, amplifying the support for GSUSA. Travel plays a crucial role in the Girl Scouts' developmental journey, offering opportunities to engage with diverse cultures and communities. In 2023, over 59,000 Girl Scouts participated in travel, with many financing their trips through the iconic Girl Scout Cookie Program®.
The collaboration between United Airlines and GSUSA, which began in 2022, extends beyond travel funding. United has supported GSUSA's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education initiatives, providing resources to help Girl Scouts pursue interests and careers in STEM fields. This partnership reflects United's commitment to connecting people globally and fostering a new generation of leaders through educational travel experiences.
United's support for GSUSA not only helps fund travel but also promotes STEM education, aligning with United's broader goals of inspiring future leaders and encouraging careers in aviation and related fields. MileagePlus members have until April 12 to contribute miles to this cause, furthering the reach and impact of Girl Scouts' travel and educational programs.
