
Travelport and Hertz sign global agreement

As recently announced, Travelport and Hertz Corporation have closed deal enabling customers worldwide to access rental car rates inventory.
The vehicle rates accessible on Hertz.com and the Hertz mobile app will be available for all Travelport clients via the latest partnership, as the agencies managed by the UK-headquartered tech company currently administer over 94 million car rental days annually generated from worldwide affiliates sourcing the vehicles.
The deal expands the Beyond Air portfolio, while reinforcing Travelport’s leader spot as one of the biggest global B-2-B car rental provider, with more than 37.000 vehicle rental locations worldwide.
“As the global car rental industry continues to grow, so has travel seller and consumer desire for easier access to a broader range of rate types. With this agreement, Hertz benefits from Travelport’s technologies, and Travelport’s customers and travellers alike benefit from easily accessing both pre- and post-pay rates from Hertz and other rental car providers that are made accessible via Travelport API products and Travelport’s industry leading Travelport Smartpoint desktop,” explained Steve Matise from Travelport.
With this partnership, more than 68.000 travel agencies will be allowed to access Hertz’s full inventory, this way enabling customers to easier rent a car and pay for the service, regardless the situation, while travel agents can benefit higher revenues from ground transportation.
