Travel Advisory: Intermittent Closures at Derby Station in March Due to Road Improvements

East Midlands Railway alerts Derby station users of upcoming intermittent closures of Zone 1 Car Park and Railway Terrace in March, due to road improvement works by Derby City Council. Alternative parking and bus diversions will be in place.

 

East Midlands Railway (EMR) is issuing a travel advisory for passengers who utilize Derby Station, particularly those who park in Zone 1 Car Park. Due to road improvement efforts by Derby City Council, there will be intermittent closures affecting Zone 1 Car Park and Railway Terrace throughout March. These closures are part of an ongoing project to enhance road access around the station area, which has seen modifications like the one-way system on Railway Terrace since July.

During the closure days, station users are encouraged to consider alternative parking options such as Zone 2 and Zone 3 Car Parks, located on Roundhouse Road and off Midland Road, respectively. Additionally, bus services to the station will undergo route diversions, with adjustments to pick-up and drop-off points on specific dates.

EMR advises customers to check the latest information on road closure dates and alternative access arrangements through their website before traveling. This proactive approach will help ensure a smoother journey to and from Derby Station during the period of these infrastructure enhancements.
