The Sharjah International Travel and Tourism Forum kicks up on Thursday

The schedule of the forum will cover a wide variety of subjects related to current investment opportunities, as well as the future of the travel industry.

This year’s conference topic will be “Building a Resilient Future for Tourism”.

Hosted by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, the meeting will bring together authorities, global travel experts, aviation specialists, entrepreneurs, tour operators, as well as social media influencers.

The event, organized by Sharjah Commerce and Tourist Development Authority (SCTDA), supports the organization's efforts to strengthen the city's presence across the global tourism market by presenting the best travel and tourism entities available on the market, in order to promote better implementation of the sector’s projects as well as develop more creative approaches for boosting profitability.

The conference will include three lectures and three discussion groups on how to further create sustainable tourism while attaining higher hospitality standards, as well as how to address the most common industry challenges with the help of smart technology solutions.

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, commented on the occasion:

“Tourism has a strong impact on the economy of countries all around the world, as it is associated with a series of key vibrant sectors. Hence, SITTF translates the emirate’s strategy to envision the future of the tourism sector and highlight the opportunities it offers.

The results are reflected in the high growth rates the sector has experienced in recent years, inspiring us to bring forth global expertise in the sector to develop tourism and its infrastructure through the use of next-generation technologies that support improving tourists' experiences and discuss important new conditions and opportunities for sustainable tourism.”

SITTF is a very popular tourism forum, bringing together industry experts to discuss the latest trends in travel and tourism and exchange information on ways to boost the local economy by improving main tourist attractions, competitiveness, entrepreneurship, technological advances, and sustainability of the sector.

The 9th Sharjah International Travel and Tourism Forum edition will take place on November 24, 2022, at the Sharjah Expo, in the United Arab Emirates.
