The Hamad International Airport In Qatar Is Among The Best Airports Worldwide

In addition to being named "World's Best Airport Shopping" and "Best Airport in the Middle East," DOH has been recognised as the global second-best runway.

The awards were presented at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Amsterdam, Netherlands on March 15, 2023. The event was organised by Skytrax.

The World Airport Awards have been running annually since 2000 to give a customer satisfaction research that is genuinely global in breadth and coverage; they are independent and unbiased. They evaluate customer service and airport amenities at more than 550 airports worldwide, making them the industry standard. Both the poll and the resulting prizes are completely unrelated to airport management in any way. In order to determine the winners, the Global Airport Survey used responses from passengers of more than 60 different countries. The poll looked at how satisfied clients were.

When it was opened to the public in 2014, Hamad International Airport has quickly risen to prominence as one of the world's leading airports, providing travellers with a wealth of services and amenities before they arrive at an incredible destination. Around 35 million people travelled through Hamad International Airport in 2022, a record year for the airport. This rise in passenger volume was the result of a 101.9% Year-on-Year growth. The airport also experienced a rise in the total number of aircraft movements, which was 217,875, which was a gain of 28.2% compared to 2021. The airport finished the year 2022 with 44 airline partners, servicing over 170 destinations all over the globe, and closing off a highly successful year as the Official Airport Partner of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

DOH continues to expand, connecting people all over the globe with its first-rate facilities and luxurious services. The airport entered phase B of its expansion plan in 2023, with the intention of creating two additional aisles inside the current terminal and boosting its capacity to more than 70 million passengers.
