Switzerland: A woman has died after train attack
A woman died and two young girls are in serious condition a day after being attacked on a train in Switzerland by a man armed with a knife and carrying with him flammable liquid, announced on Sunday the police of the Saint-Gall Canton quoted by Reuters.
AFP reports that the gunman died in hospital because of the injuries, as he suffered severe burns. "The suspect, a Swiss aged 27, died from injuries" declared the police in Saint-Gall, in an official statement. The woman, aged 34, died Sunday morning from injuries. The girls, aged 6 years and 17 years is in serious condition.
Five people were stabbed or suffered burns during the attack committed by a 27 year old Swiss man in a train that runs near the train station which connects Salez, Sennwald Buchs and Saint-Gall, a canton in north eastern Switzerland. A sixth person has inhaled smoke while trying to help the people in the train. Three victims were still in hospital this morning.
The police searched for any premises of the suspect, who lived in a neighboring canton, but gave no information on the outcome of the research. However, the police have reported that there are many evidences that indicate a terrorist or politically motivated act. "The reasons remain unclear. We have not found any" police representatives said in a statement.
