SWISS Extends Partnership with Swiss Football Association

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has announced an extension of its partnership with the Swiss Football Association (SFA), reaffirming its role as the Official Airline of Switzerland’s national football teams. The renewed agreement extends the collaboration for an additional four years, running until June 2028.
Continued Support for Swiss Football
By extending this partnership, SWISS underlines its ongoing commitment to supporting sports in Switzerland at a national level. SWISS will continue to provide a wide range of air travel-related services for all 14 of Switzerland’s national football teams, which include both the women's and men’s 'A' teams, as well as the youth and beach football teams.
Heike Birlenbach, SWISS Chief Commercial Officer, expressed the airline's enthusiasm for the partnership:
“Football is one of the most popular sports of all, throughout Switzerland and around the world. So as Switzerland’s leading airline, we’re hugely keen to support the Swiss football scene. SWISS, like football, brings people together. And at SWISS, too, it’s the teamwork that’s key. We wish the Swiss team all the very best in Germany. And we look forward to continuing to support them in the years ahead.”
A Trusted Partnership
Robert Breiter, General Secretary of the Swiss Football Association, shared his gratitude for the ongoing support:
“We are grateful and delighted that we will be remaining on board with SWISS and can continue to work with such a sound and reliable partner. For several years now, we have enjoyed a collaboration that is firmly based on confidence and trust, and on our shared objective of international success.”
Extensive Sporting Commitment
SWISS has a long history of supporting sports at the national level in Switzerland. In addition to its partnership with the Swiss Football Association, SWISS is the Official Airline of Swiss Athletics and the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation, and a partner of Swiss Olympic, Swiss Paralympic, and Swiss Ski.
The airline also supports several top international sports events held in Switzerland, including the Lauberhorn ski races in Wengen and the Weltklasse Zürich athletics meeting.
